MARCH 2025
After a pretty promising start to the year, February came in like a slap from reality—and the blog had to take a little nap. No new articles that month, as I was buried deep in PhD homework.
But hey, we bounced back stronger. One of those assignments actually turned into one of the most interesting pieces I’ve written so far—an article diving into the waves of Media Revolutions and how they reshaped the entire sports ecosystem.
I also kept the Delfi train rolling and published the first article from that collab here on the blog. It’s about the future of the Lithuanian national team, and I think basketball fans will find it worth a read—especially since most of our new-gen talent is making noise in the US.
Another thing I’m proud of: finally uploading my Master’s thesis to the blog. Been meaning to do that since day one. It gives me a solid foundation to build on, especially because the theoretical part overlaps nicely with the themes I explore here—mainly around brands and how they’re built.
Oh, and I’ve started laying the groundwork for introducing Sports Marketing more properly here too. It’s long overdue.
April feels like it’s bringing some good momentum, and I’m pretty confident I’ll finally publish a few articles I’ve been cooking up for months now.

JANUARY 2025
January turned out to be the first month with some actual advancements in this blog’s history.
First off, I did two interviews. One with Jonathan Rosemond, a creative student who did a student-project ad for Under Armour and hit me up for an evaluation. The second was with Stefan Hendriks, an aspiring coach, where we dove into his personal story and what traits make a good sports coach. It was a great conversation and provided useful insights towards the bigger picture of my research.
Also, back in December, I got a message from the Head of Sports at DELFI, the biggest Lithuanian news portal. This led to publishing my first article about the local issues with Žalgiris Kaunas head coach Andrea Trinchieri. What’s cool about that is that it ended up being one of the top 5 articles overall and number 1 in the sports section the day it was published. Got some love, got some hate—even got an angry fan letter through Facebook. 😅 But hey, it’s all part of the grind, and it definitely feels like a step in the right direction.
This whole journey’s been a fun ride, and I’ve written about the lessons I’ve learned in these first three months. So, if anyone’s thinking about doing something similar, you can learn from my wins (and mistakes).
Oh, and the podcast is coming soon, so I’m really curious to see where this all goes. Keep reading and make sure to subscribe!

DECEMBER 2024
As the holidays approached, my focus naturally drifted away from the blog. With just four articles published in December, I’ve taken this time to recharge—and now I’m ready to hit the ground running in early 2025. Armed with new tools to assess the value of athlete influencers on teams, I’m eager to dive into research and maybe even explore some exciting collaborations.
December has been a standout month for a few reasons. First, my article about Kaunas caught national attention in Lithuania, earning mentions in major news outlets and even national broadcasts—an unexpected but thrilling recognition.
Second, I received an email from a group of U.S.-based students that could lead to something really intriguing. Fingers crossed for where that might go!
And finally, I got the rest I desperately needed. So here’s to 2025—may it bring fresh ideas, new opportunities, and plenty of inspiration!

NOVEMBER 2024
The start of the second month was quite challenging as I pushed myself to develop the initial draft on what the sports ecosystem is and the entities within it. After receiving a lot of feedback from my PhD supervisors, Lina and Justinas, there’s still a lot of work to be done. However, I’m determined to keep pushing forward and aim to finalize the questionnaires for my future interviews to start the podcast as soon as possible.
In November, I also launched the Ad Meter, which allowed me to have some fun by reviewing my favorite sports ads.
Finally, my article on the Top 10 Cities That Produced the Most NBA Players Per 100k received some international recognition and was featured on a major Croatian news portal and some other news pages. It was really cool and a sign that Play of Values is headed in the right direction.
